2 Corinthians 8: Live to Give and support true ministries

Image
1. Generosity is Not Based on Wealth, But Grace The Macedonian churches gave beyond their ability, even in deep poverty. Their giving flowed from joy and God’s grace, not abundance. Lesson: Giving is spiritual, not financial . 2. True Giving is Willing, Not Forced Paul emphasizes that giving should be voluntary, not under pressure. God values the heart behind the gift, not just the amount. Lesson: God looks at willingness, not compulsion. 3. Christ is the Ultimate Example of Giving “Though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor…” Jesus gave up everything so we could gain eternal riches. Lesson: Our giving reflects Christ’s sacrifice . 4. Give According to What You Have Giving is not about comparison. It is about faithfulness with what God has given you. Lesson: God honors proportion, not competition. 5. Equality in the Body of Christ The goal is not burdening some and easing others, but balance. Those who have more should help those in need. Lesson: The Church must function as o...

Question: How many love Stories are there in The Bible?

Image
If we look closely, we can group them into romantic love, covenant love (marriage), sacrificial love, and divine love. Let’s explore them in a meaningful way. ❤️ 1. Romantic & Marriage Love Stories in the Bible These are the closest to what we usually call “love stories”: 1. Adam and Eve The first love story in creation God Himself institutes marriage “Bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh” (Genesis 2:23) 2. Isaac and Rebekah A God-arranged love story Isaac loved Rebekah deeply after marriage (Genesis 24:67) Shows divine guidance in choosing a spouse 3. Jacob and Rachel One of the most emotional love stories Jacob worked 14 years for Rachel Example of patient and sacrificial love 4. Ruth and Boaz A story of loyalty, redemption, and grace Ruth’s faithfulness leads to divine blessing Boaz acts as a redeemer 5. Samson and Delilah A warning love story Love mixed with deception and downfall Shows dangers of wrong relationships 6. David and Bathsheba A fallen love story Began in sin but la...

SERMON : LOVE vs LUST — Choose Wisely

Image
SERMON : LOVE vs LUST — Choose Wisely 1. OPENING “Today, I’m not here to entertain you… I’m here to confront you.” Youth today don’t struggle with finding love… They struggle with defining it correctly. What the world calls “love”… God often calls lust. The question is not: Do you love someone? The real question is: What kind of love is it? KEY SCRIPTURES John 13:34 – “Love one another as I have loved you” 1 John 2:16 – “Lust of the flesh… is not from the Father” 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 – Definition of true love 2. WHAT IS LOVE? Let’s define love biblically, not emotionally. Love is SACRIFICIAL Example: Jesus Christ He didn’t take… He gave He didn’t demand… He died Love says: “I will give my life for you.” Love GIVES, NOT TAKES Love invests Love builds Love protects If your relationship is draining you spiritually… It is not love. Love HONORS Honors God Honors purity Honors boundaries Love will never push you into sin. “If it pulls you away from God, it is not love — no matter how strong ...

Question: In Indian context, the Church youths, have vague understanding of Love, Marriage, Morality, Relationships and finally Church/Christianity?

Image
This is a very real and sensitive issue—especially in the Indian church context where culture, family pressure, and spirituality all intersect. The problem is not that youth are “rebellious,” but often that they are unformed, uninformed, or afraid . Let’s break this down carefully and honestly. 1. Why Youth Fear or Hesitate to Ask Questions a) Culture of Silence in Churches Many churches unintentionally create an environment where: Questions about love, attraction, or sexuality feel “unholy” Youth feel they will be judged instead of guided  Result: They suppress questions instead of seeking biblical clarity. b) Fear of Being Labelled “Spiritual Weak” In many Indian churches: Asking about romance = seen as “carnal” Expressing attraction = seen as “backsliding” So youth think: “If I ask, they will think I am not spiritual.” c) Lack of Safe Mentorship There are very few approachable mentors (pastors/leaders) who: Speak openly about relationships Share...

2 Corinthians 6: A call to holiness and a defense of genuine ministry

Image
In Second Epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 6 , the apostle Paul the Apostle opens his heart and ministry. This chapter is both a call to holiness and a defense of genuine ministry . 1. Chapter Summary (Flow of the Message)  A. Don’t Receive Grace in Vain (v1–2) Paul begins with urgency: “Now is the day of salvation.” Grace is not to be wasted—it demands response. Ministry begins with right response to God , not just calling. B. The Lifestyle of a True Servant (v3–10) Paul lists how a real servant of God lives—not in comfort, but in endurance: In afflictions, hardships, persecutions In purity, knowledge, patience, love Through honor and dishonor As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing As poor, yet making many rich True ministry is tested in fire, not proven on stage . C. A Pastor’s Heart Must Be Open (v11–13) Paul says: “Our heart is wide open to you” A true servant: Loves people deeply Is not narrow or selfish Does not manipulate but em...

Sermon: “Poverty Is Not a Curse - but GOD is your Portion”

Image
1. Introduction   Heaven does not measure you by your bank account Church, hear this clearly: Some people have preached a gospel that says,  “If you are poor, you are cursed.”  “If you don’t have money, you don’t have faith.” But today, we are going to break that lie with the Word of God! Because the Bible does not say: “Blessed are the rich…” It says:  “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God” — Luke 6:20  That means: Heaven does not measure you by your bank account. Heaven measures you by your heart. 2. POVERTY IS NOT A SIGN OF GOD’S REJECTION Look at Job: A righteous man A God-fearing man Yet he lost everything Did God curse him? NO! God trusted him! Your condition is not always your condemnation. Sometimes your situation is a stage for God’s glory! 3. POVERTY OFTEN COMES FROM A BROKEN WORLD The Bible shows: The poor are oppressed The needy are exploited The weak are ignored  Poverty is often the result of: injustice corru...

Question: Is Poverty a Curse — A Biblical Perspective - what Old and New Testament says about this

Image
Introduction In many circles today, especially influenced by prosperity-focused teachings, poverty is often labeled as a “curse” or a sign of weak faith. But when we carefully examine Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—we discover a deeper, more balanced truth: The Bible never teaches that all poverty is a curse. Instead, it presents poverty in multiple dimensions—economic, spiritual, moral, and redemptive. Let us explore this truth through the lens of both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Old Testament Perspective: Poverty Is Not Automatically a Curse 1. Poverty Can Result from Injustice, Not Curse The Old Testament frequently shows that poverty often comes from oppression and injustice, not divine punishment. Isaiah 10:1–2 – Leaders make unjust laws that rob the poor Amos 5:11–12 – The rich exploit the needy Truth: Poverty is often caused by human sin, not God’s curse. 2. God Commands Care for the Poor God built systems into Israel’s law to protect and uplift the poor: Levi...

2 Corinthians 5: Ambassadors of Heaven

Image
Pastors and servants of God, ministry can sometimes feel heavy. There are pressures, criticisms, spiritual battles, and moments when results seem slow. But in 2 Corinthians 5, the apostle Paul the Apostle lifts our eyes beyond the temporary struggles of ministry to the eternal purpose of God. This chapter reminds us: Our ministry is not just about this life — it is about eternity. Paul tells us that even if our earthly body fades or ministry becomes difficult, God has prepared something eternal for us. Therefore, we do not serve for applause on earth; we serve for the approval of Christ. Pastors, today God is calling us to remember: We are not just leaders of churches — we are ambassadors of heaven. Key Message of 2 Corinthians Chapter 5 1. Our Earthly Life Is Temporary, But Our Future Is Eternal Paul compares our body to a temporary tent. One day believers will receive a permanent dwelling from God. Pastoral encouragement: Sometimes ministry feels like living in a fragile tent — unsta...

Sermon: 2 Corinthians 4: “DON’T QUIT — THE GLORY IS HIDDEN IN THE PRESSURE:

Image
INTRODUCTION: THE SILENT STRUGGLE OF MINISTERS There are battles no one sees. You preach, but feel empty. You serve, but feel unseen. You pray, but heaven feels silent. Many pastors and evangelists today are not quitting publicly, they are quitting privately. But listen to the cry of Paul the Apostle: “Therefore, since we have this ministry… we do not lose heart.” (4:1) This is not a motivational line, this is a war cry from a wounded soldier. 1. MINISTRY IS MERCY — NOT A RESULT (v.1) “We have this ministry by the mercy of God…” You are not in ministry because you are strong. You are in ministry because God showed mercy. When you forget mercy, you focus on results. When results fail, you feel like a failure. Truth : Your calling is not based on your success — it is based on God’s mercy. So don’t quit what God started just because it became hard. 2. YOU CARRY LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD (v.3–6) “The god of this world has blinded the minds…” You are not failing, you are fighting blindness. ...

Sermon: “God’s Creative Destruction: Breaking to Build Better

Image
Sermon: “God’s Creative Destruction: Breaking to Build Better” Note: “Creative destruction” is the economic process where innovation continuously replaces old technologies, industries, or companies, driving growth through renewal. Coined by Joseph Schumpeter, it describes how new products make old ones obsolete. The 2025 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded to Philippe Aghion, Peter Howitt, and Joel Mokyr for analyzing how this process powers sustained economic growth.  Sermon Key Idea: God often destroys the old version of us to create His new purpose in us. Biblical Foundation Introduction (sermon): Some of you walked into this place thinking God is blessing you… But what if I told you—God is actually breaking you? Not to destroy you… But to rebuild you. See, we love a God who adds… But we struggle with a God who takes away. We celebrate when doors open— But we question Him when doors shut. We shout when prayers are answered— But we get silent when things fall apart....

2 Corinthians 3: “From Glory to Greater Glory”

Image
Today we are stepping into a powerful truth: Christianity is not a religion—it is a transformation. We read the Bible… but the real question is: Is the world reading Christ through your life? Paul declares, “You are the letter of Christ.” Not written with ink… But written by the Spirit on your heart. Many people today live in religion without revelation… Bound by rules… but empty in spirit. But today, God is calling you: From letters to the Spirit From bondage to freedom From death to life Let's meditate 2 Corinthians chapter 3 Church, Christianity is not about letters on stone… it is about a life transformed by the Spirit. You are not just reading the Bible—you are becoming a living message! 1. You Are Christ’s Living Letter (vv.1–3) Paul says, “You are our letter… written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God.” The world may never read the Bible… But they are reading your life every day. Challenge : What does your life say about Jesus? Is your character a...
